Many people find art and art galleries intimidating. We want to change that.

We’ve seen so much talent on Instagram, but we know it’s a big step from there to printing work for an exhibition. We want to change that too.

Art for Everyone aims to engage the broader community—young, old, local, not-so-local, artists, photographers and happy snappers—in a project that inspires creativity.

Phase 1: Post images to Instagram

Over 3 months from 1 October to 31 December, you’re invited to get creative with your smartphone or digital camera. Participating in the project will be as simple posting photos to Instagram, using the project hashtag (see Get involved for the hashtag and conditions of entry).

Our curators will monitor posts, selecting the most interesting each week to feature on our Instagram account.  If your image is reposted on our Instagram account, it means it’s shortlisted and may be included in the exhibition.

Phase 2: Visit the exhibition

The project will culminate in an exhibition in the Community Gallery at the Kyabram Town Hall.

We’ll print 300-400 images in a 145mm square format (the Maxi size from our sponsor, Photify) for the exhibition. We may also have a digital display.

The official opening will be at 6pm on Saturday 10 February.  If your work is printed for the exhibition, we’ll let you know. And we’d love to see you at the gallery.

The exhibition will run until 2 April 2018.

Peoples’ Choice Prize

The printed image that gets the most votes from visitors to the exhibition will win the People’s Choice Prize: $100 cash from Bakers Delight and a set of 24 Maxi photos from Photify.
